Well, we live on to tell our tales…..Hello there 2013!

Happy New Year! I know I am a tad late and its been 3 months into 2013 but so much has happened. Well, looking back into 2012, I must say it was bittersweet for me. I did not do any theatre last year and that did not make me a happy girl. However, I was given opportunities in Film and TV where I played roles I never played before.

I was also blessed with other opportunities like taking part in a home decor reality show called The Apartment! That was so much fun! It was something that I have never done before and it felt exciting and learning something new always incites me.

Other highlights of my year included lots of travel, meeting family members I have never met and a life changing trip to the Edinburgh Fringe. I was truly inspired by the many shows and talented individuals I met.  I also got to hang out with a group of super talented musicians everyday for a month. The Blueswater comprises of 9 ,sometimes 12 young musicians who come together to play some serious music that makes you just wanna dance.

Not only am I thankful for all the opportunities that were given to me, I am also grateful for all the love and support I have had from my friends, family and loved ones. I definitely need to thank a few friends for hooking me up with some must-haves.

So you might remember in my first blog post about The Apartment, I showed off my Hello Dolly Pink Tool Case complete with pink tool kits but I was missing my pink pliers. Then the distributors, Glamourpusslife contacted me and presented me this:

Yup, not only do I have a complete tool case now, I also have a gardening apron to be really hands on! Thank you so much Glamourpusslife!

Then, I get invited to plenty of events and at these parties, sometimes you get really awesome swag bags. Some of my favourites include:

As you can see, I am one lucky woman. I was very pampered last year and I hope to continue my existing relationship with these esteemed brands, thanks to some of Singapore’s best PR companies.

Back to 2013. It hasn’t been an easy start. And yet, I continue to keep my faith that the road can get easier, if not more exciting. I know I am being vague but when I have a bit more time, I hope to share more of my ups and downs, misadventures and the crazy stuff happening in my life and my head!

The Apartment – Prelude

I love watching reality shows. From the good and the bad to the ugly and the ridiculous, we are definitely spoilt for choice. I love talent shows like So You Think You Can Dance, The Glee Project and RuPaul’s Drag Race. And not forgetting games shows like The Amazing Race and Fear Factor. So when my girlfriend Paula asked me to audition for the 2nd season of The Apartment with her, I was both excited and nervous at the same time. Excited because I love games and challenges. And this was for a home decorating show and I lOVE home decorating! Nervous because I like my privacy but its a reality show, so privacy is the last thing you’ll find.

We went to the audition high strung. We couldn’t stop talking! We talked to other contestants, we talked to the girl at registration, we talked with each other and we talked while we filled out our form. We didn’t really know what to expect but boy, were we super excited! Being a professional auditionee, I brought some props to play around with and to help us stand out:

Well, I am glad to say we nailed (pun intended) the auditions and I hope you will support our team, the DESIGN DIVAS . I know I really suck at keeping up with my own blog but this is something so exciting and fun that I promise I will post every week. I will be addressing every episode after its aired to give you some gossip, some behind-the-scene insights (but nothing that will breach my contract with the producers of course :-p ).
